The Outdoor Classroom
Fumee Lake is a wonderful resource for educators who want to get their students into a natural classroom. Additional information can be found in the following two reports on the area which are in the Dickinson County Library in Iron Mountain, the Solomonson branch in Norway and in each school library in Dickinson County:
The Fumee Lake Commission urges classes to post their projects at Fumee Lake within the Class Project section to be developed. This is a place to showcase the hard work and research students have done at the area. A few of the possible areas to study would be the animal life, the flowers, the trees and the water. Other possibilities are to study the eagles that nest there or maybe even just take a field trip.
